Prep roundup: Ephrata girls pull away from Aussies in season opener

EPHRATA — Ephrata head coach Aaron Ross had no idea what to expect from the Aussie Traveling Team.

Any worries were alleviated quickly as Ephrata poured in 21 first-quarter points — 36 in the first half — to beat the Aussies 52-32.

Isabel Buchert led the way with 13 points. Madison Martin, a 5-foot-11 post, added 10 points.

Ephrata travels to Cascade on Thursday.

EPHRATA — Jake Oxos and TJ McMillan scored 13 points each and Ephrata pulled away from the Aussie Traveling Team 69-33.

Joshua Benthem scored 10 points.
