| November 21, 2017 2:00 AM

June 9, 1943 – November 5, 2017

Maarten was born in the Netherlands on June 9, 1943, with sister Carla and brothers John and Rob. Maarten was a electrician by trade, with his work taking him to Canada and later the U.S. Maarten made friends everywhere he went.

His travels brought him to Moses Lake where he was a member of the Moses Lake Eagles Lodge 2622 and he met Dee White. He decided Moses Lake offered something special in her and decided to stay, where he currently was serving as a past president and current vice president. Maarten loved to fix things, always tinkering with whatever needed to be done. He enjoyed reading, traveling and being on the computer finding jokes to share, and he liked to cook. You could usually find Maarten sitting at a table with a cup of coffee or his favorite beer, Heineken. Maarten and Dee loved to dance.

Maarten passed away Nov. 5, 2017 in Spokane, Wash. with Dee and her children by his side.

He is survived by Dee White; her children Robby (Leanne) and Cindy (Don) Archer and his brothers John and Rob and sister Carla of the Netherlands. He was preceded in death by his parents and by Dee’s daughter Nicki Penrose and son Danny White.

A memorial will be held Saturday, Nov. 25 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Moses Lake Eagles Lodge, 1517 W. Broadway, Moses Lake, Wash.

Maarten, we will miss your humor and your eagerness to help your friends, but most of all we will miss your friendship. Thanks for the memories.
