MOSES LAKE — Wendy’s really is coming to Moses Lake.

“We have a development plan for the project,” said Gil Alvarado, Moses Lake director of community development. “We will meet with the architects in two weeks to go over the project.”

Alvarado told the Columbia Basin Herald that Moses Lake has been working on a deal with Wenspok, a Spokane-Based company that owns and operates 32 Wendy’s restaurants in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and California, for nearly a year.

In late October, Wenspok placed an advertisement on Indeed.com looking for a general manager and assistant manager for a Wendy’s restaurant in Moses Lake.

“We got some calls about that,” Alvarado said.

The company’s proposed site plan envisions a 2,100-square-foot restaurant on a 1.04-acre site at the corner of SR-17 and Yonezawa Boulevard across from Denny’s.

Alvarado said the site plan is a pretty standard footprint for a fast food restaurant.

“We’ve reviewed the site plan, had some comments,” Alvarado said. “They hope to begin construction in spring of 2018.”

According to Grant County tax records, the site is currently owned by Pease Road, a limited liability corporation registered to a Lawrence Pirkle at an address in Mount Vernon, Wash. The Grant County assessor has valued the parcel at around $430,000.

Alvarado said several other major chains are looking at Moses Lake right now, though he would not say which ones.
