Taxes not helping traffic situation

| November 16, 2017 2:00 AM

More city tax! I would like to write this letter to the past, present and future Moses Lake City Council. Why is it that Moses Lake has had a traffic problem for many years and your answer is to slow it down, take pictures, bottleneck it, put up more traffic lights, turn four lanes of traffic into two lanes, add barriers and obstacles? Oh, yeah, let’s not forget your West Side bicycle lanes that very few use. Why not let the bicycles use the sidewalks? Nobody uses them anymore and some sidewalks are 12 feet wide. By the way, you forgot to turn Wheeler Road and Pioneer Way into two lanes, or are you working on that?

Now you want to tax Moses Lake businesses and residents for more infrastructure money to bring in more business. We can’t handle what we have now. You want tax money, go to the state and the feds and get some money for the second lake crossing, a project that’s been talked about since I’ve lived here (1965) with no results or movement. I’m sure the people would get behind a tax hike for a second bridge, because you all know nothing will come of it, just more wasted tax money and no results.

The idea of traffic control is to keep it moving. Try planting more trees, put down some pavers. That should keep traffic moving.
