MOSES LAKE — A man was arrested in Moses Lake over the weekend after allegedly breaking into a home and taking a nap at the homeowner’s dining room table.

About 10:30 p.m. Saturday night a resident who lives in the Knolls Vista neighborhood reporting hearing the front door to his residence open and close. The homeowner reportedly located Seth Estrada, 26, inside his home and confronted him. The homeowner contacted MACC Dispatch and police responded to the home, according to Moses Lake Police Department Capt. Mike Williams.

When officers arrived at the house they located Estrada, who was allegedly highly intoxicated and didn’t know where he was, sleeping in a chair at the kitchen table. Officers woke Estrada up, but the suspect was less than cooperative with police.

“As he stood up to square off with the officer, Estrada grabbed a baby bottle off the table in front of him, perhaps mistaking it for his beer,” Williams explained. “Estrada moved away from the officer and attempted to get into one of the bedrooms in the house, before being quickly restrained.”

Williams said Estrada was “heavily” intoxicated and could only tell police he is American, from Texas, and that he recognized the fact that he should not enter other people’s homes. He was booked into the Grant County Jail for residential burglary.
