Prep roundup: Moses Lake 200 medley relay nearly misses school record
FEDERAL WAY — Moses Lake’s 200 medley relay team nearly broke the school record at the state swim and dive meet.
Anna Fair, Jessica Williams, Cora Dana and Lacy Johnson combined to shave almost two seconds from their seed time to place 17th in a time of 1:55.34, two one-hundredths of a second slower than the school record of 1:55.32.
Fair, in her fourth trip to the state meet, finished 19th in the 100 fly in 1 minute, 0.71 seconds.
Bethany Bateman reached the diving semifinals and took 18th with 128.80 points; Izzy Sica was 23rd with 89 points.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline places 5th at state
YAKIMA — Almira/Coulee-Hartline won its two consolation matches Saturday to place fifth at the 1B state volleyball tournament.
ACH swept Sunnyside Christian 25-18, 25-17, 25-16 and outlasted Quilcene in five sets 24-26, 27-29, 25-11, 25-13, 15-6 to earn the fifth-place trophy.

Steilacoom 28, Othello 26
LAKEWOOD — Othello built a 13-0 lead, but fell to Steilacoom 28-26 in the first round of the 2A state playoffs.
Kyler Villarreal broke an 81-yard touchdown run and Trevor Hilmes scored from four yards out to build the Huskies’ early lead.
The Sentinels scored twice in the third quarter to lead 28-19. Isaiah Perez rumbled 72 yards to pull the Huskies within two points in the fourth quarter.
Othello had one more shot to win the game, taking over possession with 40 seconds left, but quarterback DJ Guzman threw an interception on the first play of the drive.
