Harold E. Aldrich, 87, a Moses Lake resident since 1960, was called to His Lord Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017 at Samaritan Hospital, with his family by his side. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 at Guarding Angels Cemetery, 2595 Road L NE. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, 746 S. He was born on July 12, 1930 in Independence, Kansas to Leslie and Lola (Jackson) Aldrich. Harold went on to graduate high school as well as Jr. College and achieving his Bachelor and Master’s Degree from Pittsburg State University, where he met Dorothy Conner whom he married July 25, 1952.

After starting their family, sons Richard and Daniel and daughter, Valorie, they moved to Moses Lake in 1960 where he fathered another son, Barry. He furthered his career in education by joining the Moses Lake School District until his retirement in 1985.

Aside from being an educator, he became a dedicated member of the United Methodist Church and a longtime member of the Moses Lake Chapter of Toastmasters.

Harold enjoyed many things in life, but photography, traveling, sketching and music where among his top activities and hobbies.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy, his daughter Valorie (Ken) Oliver and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Charles, his sister Lois and his three sons Richard, Daniel and Barry.
