MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Business Association is looking for some people to help revitalize downtown.

The association is inviting community members, business owners and others to a presentation by Breanna Durham, the Washington Main Street coordinator, and Michaelle Boetger, executive director of the Moses Lake Business Association, on downtown revitalization starting at 5:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 6, in the Moses Lake Civic Center.

“The Moses Lake community is growing and our downtown is a vital part of that,” Boetger said. “Thriving downtowns are what people look for when they look for new places to start a business, new places to live, as well as places to visit.”

The “Main Street Approach” to community revitalization emphasizes and encourages making Main Street a place for people to do business. Main Streets in many small towns have been hard hit by the decline in the rural economy since the 1970s, leaving many places blighted.

“Meeting with other Main Street communities and hearing about their successes inspires us to do more,” Boetger said. “We truly believe in downtown and want to support our local businesses.”
