New barbecue restaurant opens in Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE — A Southern style barbecue restaurant isn’t easy to find in the Basin. Barbecue lovers are in luck, as The Q-N-More, 5981 Turnkey Road NE, opened recently in Moses Lake and has already seen a steady flow of customers.
The restaurant offers a type of cuisine that is hard to find in the Columbia Basin.
“I have had a barbecue restaurant before. I know there was one here in town before and I kind of talked to people and they kind of thought Moses Lake was really starving for that type of food,” The Q-N-More general manager Gary Stinnett said.
The Q-N-More is much more than a restaurant, as the business regularly does catering for a wide-range of events and businesses in the community. For those who want to visit their Turnkey Road location, which was formerly a taco shop, barbecue can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own vehicle. The Q-N-More has a drive-through window as well as outside seating.
Stinnett stressed that the business offers call-in lunches for people who want to call ahead, order and pick up a meal on their lunch break. He also wants the public to know that The Q-N-More isn’t just a sandwich shop.
“We have holiday meats and that is a big deal right now and we are doing smoked, custom turkeys. We will do custom hams, as well as prime rib. People can just call the store here and we can set them up with that,” he said. “We smoke meat fresh everyday. We do pulled pork, we do brisket, tri-tip, we do ribs. Shortly after the first of the year people will be on the health meal kick so we will be carrying smoked turkey breast.”
The Q-N-More is unique in that ownership has placed an importance on acquiring local meats and not offering processed meats, or anything processed. Restaurant employees custom make all of the sauces/rubs and side dishes. The potato salad features potatoes acquired from a potato grower in Warden.
“I want people to know that this smoked meat that we do is a true Southern style meat. I mean it really is. All of our meat is dry rubbed.”
