ML Senior Center auctions net thousands of dollars

| November 2, 2017 3:00 AM

MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Senior Center hosted silent and live auctions last week that raised important funds that will help the center keep offering the services it provides to local seniors.

Corie Otto, activities director at the senior center, explained a silent auction was held at their East Third Avenue location Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with a live auction held Friday night. A wide variety of items were up for bid and netted the senior center thousands of dollars. The auctions have been held at the senior center for over a decade now.

The funds will be used for general everyday operations at the senior center, as well as their nutrition program.

“That is our meals that we serve here at the center and then our home delivery meals,” Otto explained.

The exact total amount raised was not available. Otto expects the total will be close to $3,000.
