Donovan, Ochoa have school district's interests at heart

| November 2, 2017 3:00 AM

This letter is in support of two exceptional individuals who are running for the Moses Lake School Board. As a former board member I know the commitment required to be an effective and knowledgeable board member. Kevin Donovan and Oscar Ochoa have demonstrated these traits many times over the last few years. They are both passionate advocates for public school education and their motivation for running for school board comes directly from their desire to provide the best possible education for all the children in our community.

These two dedicated board members have been instrumental in bringing about positive changes in our district. New facilities have been added and others have been upgraded and expanded. New curriculum has been researched, tested and purchased so that all children who graduate from MLSD can be either work ready or college bound. Fiscal management has been handled in such a way that a fund balance was created and maintained that helped cushion reductions in educational funding. Their knowledge and expertise in these matters have been invaluable.

Neither Kevin nor Oscar has an agenda. Their platforms are built on a strong desire to work for all children by listening to the needs and concerns of all district stakeholders and by openly discussing those needs and concerns and coming to a solution that benefits all.

Our district faces many challenges in the future. I encourage you to join me in voting for the individuals who have proven that they have the experience and the knowledge to face these difficult challenges. Vote Kevin Donovan and Oscar Ochoa, for our kids and for our community.
