Ephrata man injured after striking deer with motorcycle

ELLENSBURG — A Ephrata man was injured on Monday after he reportedly collided with a deer near Ellensburg.

About 11:50 a.m. James Sircin, 54, of Ephrata, was driving a 2014 Harley Davidson north on state Route 821, about 15 miles south of Ellensburg, when a deer reportedly entered the road. The Harley reportedly struck the deer and came to a rest in the northbound ditch, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Sircin was injured in the collision and transported to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital by ambulance for treatment. The Harley sustained reportable damages and was impounded.

No citations are expected to issued, according to the patrol.
