Helping Washington youth gain needed work skills

The Columbia Basin Technical Skills Center, 900 East Yonezawa Blvd. in Moses Lake, is one of 27 regional sites around the state that will host a strategies meeting to help Washington youth gain the needed work skills to prepare for high-demand jobs.

The event, sponsored by the WSU Grant/Adams Extension 4-H Youth Development Program, the Grant Count Economic Development Council (EDC) and Columbia Basin Technical Skills Center, will take place from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 31.

Teens ages 13-19 are invited to participate. The cost is $17 per person and includes lunch and beverages. The EDC will cover the cost for the first 20 teens who register for the event.
