Joyce K. Adair (Newgard)

| May 16, 2017 3:00 AM

September 25, 1935 – April 30, 2017

Joyce left us to join her beloved husband, Bob, on Sunday, April 30, 2017. Joyce was born in Seattle on Sept. 25, 1935. She was 81 years old.

To put it simply, Joyce was truly an amazing mother, wife and friend. She was deeply devoted to her family, adored her three boys beyond words, welcomed friends with a huge hug and sincerely cared for anyone she met. She was the most generous, selfless and giving person you could have ever imagined. The most common comment heard when remembering Joyce is “Wow, what a nice lady.” Joyce had an incredible capacity to love. She judged no one and accepted everyone.

For many years, Joyce helped to manage the family beer distribution business in Moses Lake. After the business was sold, she worked at Commercial Collections until she retired. Moses Lake was a perfect place to raise her three boys Brian, Kyle and Todd. There were countless days spent on the lake water-skiing in the summer and ice skating in the winter.

Joyce will always be remembered for creating perfect, fun-filled family holidays. Thanksgiving was her specialty. She would start cooking early in the morning and by dinner time there would be a family feast like no other. It amazed everyone that even in her final days she announced that she didn’t think she’d be up for the task of cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year. Bless her incredibly huge heart.

Joyce is survived by her three sons, Brian, Kyle (Kerri) and Todd (Lisa) Adair, her grandson Nick Lannoye and her brother Jerry Newgard and his wife Veronika. In addition to her family, Joyce is also survived by many friends that she considered family and most lovingly called her “Mom.” Her circle of love was huge and full.

A joyful service to remember and honor Joyce will be held on Saturday, June 17 at 1 p.m. at Lifetime Celebrations by Washelli located at 18224 103rd Ave NE, Bothell, Wash. A reception will follow at Todd and Lisa Adair’s home in Bothell. Join us for a Moses Lake tradition of Chico’s pizza and Olympia beer, a couple of Joyce’s favorites.
