MOSES LAKE — A farmworker found the body of a missing Moses Lake man Tuesday afternoon in an irrigation ditch north of Grant County International Airport.

The body of Joe George Reyna, Jr., 31, was found near the intersection of 11 Road Northeast and H Road Northeast, according to a statement released by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

“Grant County Coroner Craig Morrison’s staff confirmed Reyna’s identity and completed an autopsy on Tuesday, concluding that Reyna died from gunshot wounds to the torso,” the statement said.

The sheriff’s office has notified Reyna’s next-of-kin.

According to Grant County Sheriff’s spokesman Kyle Foreman, Reyna’s death is still being investigated.

“Detective are following leads,” Foreman said, adding that the sheriff’s office does not want to reveal any more information about the case.

Reyna’s family reported him missing on May 1, and was last seen in late April in the area of North Grape Avenue and Highway 17.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Grant County Sheriff’s Office at 509-762-1160 or send an email to crimetips@grantcountywa.gov.
