QUINCY — Six people were injured in a two-vehicle collision near Quincy Thursday night.

About 5 p.m. Gabriela Haro, 27, of Quincy, was driving a 1998 Toyota Sienna east on Road 8 Northwest when she reportedly collided with a 2003 Dodge pickup truck driven by Brandon Hooper, 31, of Quincy, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

Grant County Fire District No. 3 firefighters responded to the scene and were able to use the “Jaws of Life” tool to help rescue some of the passengers in the Toyota. Haro and her passengers, a 10-year-old boy, a 3-year-old girl, a 5-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl, were injured in the collision and transported to Quincy Valley Medical Center for treatment. The 7-year-old girl was later flown to Spokane via LifeFlight for additional treatment. Hooper declined medical treatment.

The case is under investigation. It appears driver inattention on Haro’s part was the cause of this collision, stated the sheriff’s office in a release.
