Othello woman dies in collision

OTHELLO — A Othello woman died in an early Friday morning collision west of Othello.
About 7:40 a.m., Michele Jones, 58, of Othello, was assisting a disabled vehicle on the eastbound shoulder of state Route 24, about five miles west of Othello, and attempted to make a U-turn in her 1997 Ford Mustang. The Mustang was reportedly struck by a 1997 Ford F-250 driven by Roman Favaro, 28, of Othello, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Jones died in the collision. Favaro was not injured. Both vehicles sustained reportable damages and were impounded.
The patrol reports the cause of the accident was Jones failing to yield.
