Child rape suspect arrested in Ephrata

EPHRATA — A child rape suspect was taken into custody in Ephrata Thursday.

Grant County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team members, the Major Crimes Unit and officers with the Ephrata Police Department assisted Yuba City, Calif. detectives with taking Antuan Javier Tejada Juarez, 30, into custody.

Authorities served a search warrant at a residence in the 2100 block of Basin Street Southwest and arrested Juarez. The sheriff’s office states Juarez had been living with a family member and is lodged in the Grant County Jail. He will be sent back to California to face charges.
