Virginia Alice Blackman, 97, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 at LakeRidge Solana Care Center. Viewing will be at Kayser’s Chapel from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017 followed by graveside services at 2 p.m. at Pioneer Memorial Gardens. Virginia was born in Oso, Wash. on Nov. 30, 1919, daughter of the late Ottis and Myrtle (Johnson) Allen. She was married to Lawrence Basil Blackman on Aug. 8, 1936 in Mt. Vernon, Wash. They lived in Stanwood, Everett, Seattle and Manchester. In 1953, they moved to Moses Lake.

She enjoyed gardening, fishing and working with animals, and especially loved spending time with family.

She is survived by four children Wilma Berry, Lawrence Blackman Jr., Roger Blackman and Christy Blackman; four grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence and two infant children, Estella and Willard Blackman; grandson Ronnie and brother Joe Allen.
