2 injured after driver allegedly falls asleep at wheel on I-90
MOSES LAKE — A man and his passenger were injured in a single-vehicle collision near Moses Lake early Monday morning.
About 12:15 a.m. Valentin Villa Ramirez, 29, of Toppenish, was driving a 2006 Nissan Sentra west on Interstate 90, about 5.4 miles east of Moses Lake, and reportedly left the road to the right and struck a guardrail, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Villa Ramirez and his passenger, Maricela Villa Negrete, 33, of Toppenish, were injured and transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake for treatment. The Sentra sustained reportable damages and was impounded.
The patrol reports Villa Ramirez fell asleep at the wheel. Villa Ramirez was cited for second-degree negligent driving.
