OTHELLO — It doesn't get much stranger than scoring 35 runs in a high school varsity baseball game, but maybe it was all the pent up anger over the wrestling season.

The Othello Huskies (4-0) destroyed Toppenish 35-12 to complete a sweep in Saturday's CWAC doubleheader.

“It was bizarre game and definitely one of the longest games of my life,” said coach Sonny Garza, whose team beat the Wildcats 10-0 in the first game. “We were actually only up by three going into the fourth inning.”

T.J. Martinez went 4-for-4 with two doubles and a triple in the afternoon game and Camron Valdez was 3-for-4. In the first game, Abel Gomez and Valdez had three hits.

Othello will host Quincy on Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m.
