Mary Lou Wilmot passed away peacefully in her home March 21, 2017 with her loving husband Jim by her side.

Born June 25, 1928 in Neppel, Wash. (later renamed Moses Lake) to Charles and Jessie Hanes, she was a lifelong resident of Moses Lake. She graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1946. Mary Lou was a Moses Lake princess in 1946 and represented Moses Lake in the Wenatchee Apple Blossom parade. Following high school, she married Eugene (Jim) Wilmot on June 14, 1947 and raised a family of two daughters, Lynn and Shelley, and one son, Kent (Jackie). She worked for the Moses Lake School District as a cook until her retirement. She loved to cook and made the best rolls, camping with her family and square dancing. She played cards and board games with her husband Jim almost every day.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents and her four brother, Clingman, Colville, Fred and Clyde. She is survived by her children Lynn McRae, Shelley Wilmot and Kent (Jackie) Wilmot; step-daughter Dee (Bill) Kamp; three granddaughters, two grandsons and seven great-grandsons.

She loved her family and she will be missed.
