Sandra Lee Adams March 5, 2017 - March 20, 1939

| March 22, 2017 1:00 AM

Sandra Lee Adams, age 77, of Othello, Wash., passed away peacefully in her sleep March 5, 2017 in Moses Lake, Wash. She was born in Seattle on March 20, 1939 to parents Milton Walker and Florence (Clayton) Walker. Her father was a mechanic for Boeing and her mother was a homemaker. They earned notoriety for building the “Walker Rock Garden” in their back yard, which is still standing today.

Sandra grew up in West Seattle with her two brothers, graduated from West Seattle High School and received a biology degree from Central Washington University. She went on to teach high school biology in Moxie, Wash. until she moved to Othello, where she was a substitute teacher for biology and bilingual classes. She was married to Bob Adams on March 30, 1975, whom she met through Parents without Partners events. She was a farmer’s wife and raised every animal a farm could have, cooked and baked from the pantry and would rarely open a can or thaw out a meal. Good home cooking the way God intended. She was a very proud mother of her son, Ned and seven stepchildren. She enjoyed animals especially horses, dogs and cats. Sandra’s dog Tuffy was a true friend. She was also very adventurous. She once went sky diving and also climbed Mount Si and Mount Adams. Sandra never took the easy way and she relayed that on to family. She was honest to a fault with a heart of gold. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband Bob Adams of Othello, Wash., her son, Ned (Kathy McCrady) Bernath of Ritzville, Wash. and stepchildren Tammy (Husband) Scott of Yakima, Wash., Robert Bernath of Yakima, Wash., Laura Hasbrook of Chehalis, Wash., Clyde Adams of Houston, Texas, Dean (Lana) Adams of Rochester, Wash., Andrea (Beman) Kolb of Port Orchard, Wash. and Sonya Cox of Chehalis, Wash. Sandra also leaves behind her niece Lita (Karan) Gill of Newcastle, Wash., 18 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren to cherish her loving memory. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents Milton and Florence Walker, her brothers Clayton and George Walker and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Stevens Funeral Chapel. To leave an online condolence to the family, please visit our website at www.stevensfc.com.
