| March 21, 2017 4:00 AM

May 9, 1928 – March 11, 2017

Jacqueline (Jackie) Elizabeth Holtz, 88, of Moses Lake Wash., passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2017 with both her daughters by her side. Jackie was born May 9, 1928 in Waynesboro, Penn. to Charles and Amanda Florence. She was the youngest of five children.

Jackie had a wonderful childhood and always helped her mom take care of the chores which included cleaning chicken coops. This is how she would earn money to go see a movie on Saturday nights. As a child Jackie enjoyed playing different games with her sister Evelyn, such as catching fireflies in jars, kick the can, and hide and seek.

After graduation she moved to Washington D.C. and worked for the telephone company for six and a half years. She had two children, Charles and Carmen. After moving to Ephrata she began working at Pacific Northwest Bell Company where she met the love of her life, Fred Holtz. They married in 1975, making their home in Moses Lake. After retirement Jackie and Fred took up square dancing, and she started clogging when they weren’t dancing. They enjoyed traveling, gardening and doing yard work, but her all-time favorite was crocheting and knitting items for her family.

Jackie is survived by her two daughters Carmen (Steve) Pfeifer, Soap Lake and Lynn (Michael) Logan, Mill Creek, Wash. and her son Larry (Jill) Holtz, Portland Ore.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Fred, her parents, son Charles and granddaughter CC.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Megan and staff at Touch of Love for the amazing care and love that they showed to Mom. We couldn’t have asked for a better place and we will forever be grateful for this loving group.

The family will be having a small gathering in late spring to celebrate Jackie’s life.
