MOSES LAKE — A suspect in a break-in and assault in Othello last week was apprehended in Moses Lake on Wednesday.

On Wednesday the Adams County Sheriff’s Office reportedly received a tip that the suspect, Brandon K. Lopez, 23, was in the Moses Lake area. The ACSO contacted the Grant County Sheriff’s Office to assist with the arrest.

GCSO deputies found Lopez and told him he was under arrest. Lopez allegedly did not comply and was tased twice before he was taken into custody. Lopez was booked into the Adams County Jail on suspicion of second-degree malicious mischief, felony harassment and two counts of fourth-degree assault.

Last week the ACSO responded to a residence in the 1800 block of West Sutton Road, north of Othello, after receiving a report of a man, alleged to be Lopez, kicking in a door at the home. Lopez reportedly fled the scene in a silver Chevrolet Impala before deputies arrived. The Impala was later located unoccupied in the 300 block of South Reynolds Road.

Victims from the break-in told deputies Lopez had kicked in the door at the home and threatened the people inside. He was reportedly able to get into the home and damaged some property inside. He allegedly later returned to the home, assaulted a person and fled again, according to the ACSO.
