Walleyes fall in extra innings, swept by Eastmont Strikers

MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake was able to force extra innings in Game 2, but eventually succumbed to the bats of Eastmont 8-4. In the opener, Moses Lake mustered one hit in an 11-0 loss.

The Strikers broke Game 1 open with a seven-run third inning. The Strikers had seven players record an RBI.

Sawyer Jenks was tagged with the loss, allowing 10 runs on 12 hits in 2 1/3 innings. Brent Mendenhall pitched 2 2/3 innings of relief and allowed one run on three hits. Mendenhall also was the lone Walleye to record a hit in the first game.

The second game was a different story as Moses Lake rallied from an early 2-0 hole to tie the game 2-2 after two innings. Mendenhall hit a two-run single to score J.C. Worsham and Jenks.

After four scoreless innings, Eastmont scratched a run across in the seventh inning to take a 3-2 lead.

The Walleyes were able to force extra innings when C.J. Ramirez scored on an error in the outfield.

Despite the momentum, Eastmont plated five runs in the eighth inning to secure the win.
