NOTICE OF PRIMARY ELECTION GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTON TUESDAY, AUGUST 1, 2017 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in Grant County, State of Washington, there will be held a Primary Election for the purpose of submitting to the voters, Candidates for Local Offices for their approval or rejection of the following: City of Moses Lake City Council Position #1-Nonpartisan Office - 4 Year Term City of Quincy Mayor-Nonpartisan Office - 4 Year Term City of Soap Lake City Council Position #4-Nonpartisan Office - 4 Year Term Moses Lake School District #161 School Director Position #4-Nonpartisan Office - 4 Year Term Wilson Creek School District #167 School Director at Large Position #5-Nonpartisan - 4 Year Term Propositions Grant County Fire District #10 Proposition No. 1 The Board of Grant County Fire Protection District No. 10 adopted Resolution No. 2017-03 concerning a proposition to maintain and adequately fund District operations. This proposition authorizes the District to restore its regular property tax levy to an amount not to exceed $1.00 per $1,000.00 of assessed valuation for collection in 2018 and authorizes annual increases of up to 6% for each of the five succeeding years to provide adequate funding to maintain service levels. The maximum allowable levy in 2022 shall serve as the base for subsequent levy limitations as provided by Chapter 84.55 RCW. Any qualified elector who is not registered to vote in the State of Washington may register to vote in person at the Auditor's office up to and including July 24, 2017.
