MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake Seventh Day Adventist Church will be hosting a free dental clinic on Friday and Sunday, and anyone needing emergency dental care at no cost is urged to come.

“We’re doing cavity fillings, extractions, nothing major, but the immediate kind of care if someone is in pain,” said Clinton Meharry, pastor of Moses Lake Seventh-day Adventist Church.

“This is free to the community,” Meharry added.

Meharry said that seven dentists will be working full time from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, June 23, and Saturday, June 25, while three more dentists will be working part-time.

“We have enough equipment for seven dentists, a digital X-ray machine, plus all the tools dentists will need,” Meharry said.

In addition, there will also be haircuts, massages, and health screenings.

The event will take place at Crestview Christian School, 1601 W. Valley Rd., right across from the Grant County Fairgrounds.

This is the first time Crestview Christian and Moses Lake Seventh Day Adventist are hosting the free dental clinic. Meharry said he hopes to be able to host this event on a regular basis, but they are entirely dependent on “the fellow in Oregon that owns the equipment,” so he doesn’t know how often it will be able to happen.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church, which arose in the mid-19th century, has a long history of interest in health care, wellness, and diet.
