April 1, 1952 – June 15, 2017

Diana Carol Weitman was born April 1, 1952 in Park Rapids, Minn. to Stanley and Carol Edwards. She lived with her parents and siblings in Minnesota up until her early teens when she moved to Omak Washington with her mother and stepfather Herman Crandall.

Diana graduated from Omak High School in May 1971. One week later she married the love of her life, Richard Weitman. Diana and Richard purchased a farm in Moses Lake, Wash. where they lived for nearly 20 years and had their three children Dawn Yearout (Peter), Danielle Weitman and Charles Weitman (Carisa).

In Diana’s four decades in Moses Lake she spent more than 40 years volunteering and leading many groups and camps such as 4H, AWANA and Block 40, and teaching Sunday School. Diana primarily worked in the customer service industry, having various jobs where she could be with people and connect with the community. Diana also spent five years working alongside Richard in Alaska as a mining camp cook. Diana had managed Blue Palm Frozen Yogurt before retiring this April shortly after beginning her battle with cancer.

Diana is survived by her husband Richard, her three children, her five grandchildren, her sister and brother and many more loved ones. Diana’s one request is we celebrate, don’t dress in black and be sad. A graveside service at Pioneer Memorial Gardens on June 24 at 10 a.m. is scheduled with a potluck luncheon to follow at O’Sullivan Grange Hall in Moses Lake.
