Walleyes lose twice to West Valley

YAKIMA — The Walleyes were no match for West Valley’s bats in a doubleheader sweep Tuesday night in Yakima.

West Valley won both games in five innings, 12-2 and 18-3.

In the opener, West Valley led 4-1 entering the bottom of the fourth inning before plating eight runs. Anthony Tatro doubled twice and scored three runs.

The Walleyes scored one run each in the fourth and fifth inning. Tre Ramirez scored on a sacrifice fly ball and Radley Greer scored on a passed ball.

Moses Lake’s defense committed four errors as only six of West Valley’s 12 runs were earned.

Greer got the start and worked three innings with one strikeout.

West Valley jumped on Moses Lake right from the start in Game 2, scoring 12 runs in the first two innings. West Valley pounded the ball to a tune of 17 hits. Spencer Froula led the charge with three hits, three runs and four RBI.

Moses Lake scattered eight hits for three runs. Andrew Frey had the team’s only RBI.

Moses Lake hosts West Valley today at 5:30 p.m.
