Kiwanis/Rotary golf tournament raises nearly $13K for Grant County Sheriff's Department K9 program
MOSES LAKE — Golfers flocked to the Links at Moses Pointe on Friday for the annual Kiwanis/Rotary Golf Tournament to help raise money for the Grant County Sheriff's Department K9 program.
The fundraiser set a new record, raising just under $13,000 for the cause, which is to train the department’s three dogs and help assist deputy personnel in their training as well. Participants and volunteers were also given a demonstration of the dogs in action as they work to put the bite on crime in Grant County.
The team from Huberdeau Law Office put together a spectacular round of 55 to win the low gross division with a score of 17-under par. The team representing Summers Excavation posted the best low net score of 50.6.
But the real winner was the K9 program at Grant County Sheriff’s Department.
