EPHRATA — This year marks the 107th year for Ephrata’s Sage-n-Sun” Festival, which begins today and lasts through Saturday.

Grand marshals for the parade on Saturday are local residents Kelly and Janice Moore.

Technically, the festival began last night with the Rotary Kids Parade, but it really starts with a bang today as the city gathers for music, food, dancing, and fun.

Scheduled to play beginning at 7 p.m. Friday are Christian band Love Song, April Porter, and Spokane-based outlaw country band Armed & Dangerous. Also on Friday night teams are invited to vie for cash prizes in the annual Bed Races. Check-in time for the bed races at 5:15 p.m. at the corner of C Street Northwest and Division.

Saturday begins with a pancake breakfast at United Methodist Church followed by the parade at 11 a.m. along with a luncheon at the Senior Center and a barbecue at the Grant County Historical Museum at noon.

On Saturday students from Quincy Junior High School will show off their drone flying skills, Toby Black’s Cloggers will demonstrate their dancing abilities, and everyone is invited to participate in a talent contest from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Live music kicks off at 1 p.m. with Mary Loffelbein, followed later by Cindy Smith.
