VFW Post 8889 salutes you

| June 8, 2017 1:00 AM

On behalf of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8889 and all the veterans and their families of vets passed and still alive, I would like to thank everyone who attended the 2017 memorial ceremonies at Bess Hampton Memorial Gardens this Memorial Day. It is heartwarming to see so many thankful people who would come out in all kinds of weather.

Thanks to Pastor Don Short for providing the invocation, and to Dr. Chris Hurst for his wonderful talk. Chris, you spoke from the heart and made your talk pleasant and personal. Thank you from one vet to another.

I would also like to thank our volunteers who come out to help us set up and tear down. It would be impossible to do it without you. God bless you.

I could never forget the high school choir. Your participation is something we could not do without (and you do sing so well). Three cheers for Amber and her songbirds.

Again, thank you all. I am proud to be an American veteran.

Sincerely,

Roger Schell, commander
