MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake High School graduate and NWAC champion Hunter Boyd chose where to continue his academic and baseball career.

After spending two seasons with Yakima Valley, Boyd signed a national letter of intent to The College of Idaho.

“Thank you to everybody who has supported me!” Boyd said on social media.

Boyd was an ace pitcher for Moses Lake, leading the Chiefs to state tournament appearances in 2014 and 2015.

Boyd won an NWAC Championship with Yakima Valley in 2016. Boyd made seven starts in 2016 and had a 3.40 earned run average with a team-high 30 strikeouts. This season, Boyd trimmed his ERA to 2.91 and had 39 strikeouts.

Boyd is spending this summer playing for the Wenatchee AppleSox

The College of Idaho finished 2017 with an overall record of 25-30, but reached the NAIA National Championships.
