Kemper swims personal best times in 8 of 11 events at Apple Capital meet
WENATCHEE — Moses Lake sophomore Eric Kemper swam a personal best in eight of 11 swims at the Apple Capital Swim Meet in Wenatchee recently.
Kemper, who was a part of the Moses Lake High School 4A District 6 record-setting medley relay team (1 minute, 42.47 seconds) as a freshman, won the 100-meter butterfly with a personal best 1:02.98 in the 50-meter outside pool.
The Moses Lake 14-year-old also swam a personal best in the 200 freestyle (2:11.85) and dropped over 42 seconds off his mile freestyle time, touching in 19:06.47.
Kemper, who swims unattached, placed in the top 11 of 11 events, in a meet that featured over 800 athletes from all age groups from Washington, Oregon, and Canada. He also placed second in the 200 butterfly and third in both the 400 freestyle (4:45.85) and 200 individual medley.
Next up on Kemper’s USA swim meet schedule is the long course meet in Spokane in two weeks.
