1 injured after car strikes deer on I-90 in Moses Lake
MOSES LAKE — A Tacoma man was injured on Monday after a vehicle he was in struck a deer on Interstate 90.
About 10:20 a.m. Rebecca Sober, 46, of Tacoma, was driving a 2006 Kia Sorento west on I-90, in Moses Lake, when two deer reportedly entered the highway and attempted to cross the westbound lanes. The Kia reportedly struck one of the deer and came to a rest on the shoulder of I-90, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Sober’s passenger, Shawn Chaplin, 42, of Tacoma was injured in the collision and transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake for treatment. Sober and another passenger in the car, Jasmine Miller, 20, of Steilacoom, were not injured. The Kia sustained reportable damages and was impounded.
The patrol reports no citations were issued.
