Connie A. Rodriguez
April 28, 1954 – July 22, 2017
Our beloved mother, Connie A. Rodriguez, age 63, of Kennewick, Wash., passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, July 22, 2017. She was born in Hamilton, Mont. on April 28, 1954.
Connie graduated from Othello High School’s class of 1972 and received her Associate of Arts and Science degree from Big Bend Community College. She was married to Abelino Galindo Rodriguez Jr. on Feb. 5, 1972. Together they raised three children and enjoyed 42 years of marriage, until Abelino passed away on March 26, 2014.
Connie worked at Big Bend Community College for 28 years. She worked as an executive assistant for the Dean and she also worked in the aviation department. After her children were grown, she and her husband moved to Moses Lake, Wash. where they spent twelve years enjoying their lives together. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After the death of her husband in 2014, she moved to Kennewick, Wash. She served as the librarian in the Cottonwood Springs Ward in Kennewick. She enjoyed playing cards with her family, road trips, watching her grandchildren’s events, meeting up with longtime friends, spending time with her pets and gardening, but her primary passion in life was for her family.
Connie was survived by her parents, Delbert and Darlene Nield of Othello, Wash. and her children: Kathy (Michael) Perez of Kennewick, Wash., Jason (Olga) Rodriguez of Pasco, Wash. and Ryan (Raina) Rodriguez of Spokane, Wash.; siblings Sandra (Reid) Haroldsen of Pasco, Wash., Anthony Nield of Kennewick, Wash., Rodger (Janeal) Nield of Lewisville, Idaho, Torrie Ramon of Othello, Wash. and Kim Wall of Othello, Wash. Connie also leaves behind five grandchildren Evan, Paija, Aliyah, Olivia and Traijan and one baby boy on the way to cherish her loving memory. She was preceded in death by her husband Abelino Galindo Rodriguez Jr, and her siblings Keary and Allen Nield.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 28, 2017, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Seventh Avenue in Othello, Wash., with burial to follow at Bess Hampton Memorial Gardens.
