Ephrata 13-year-olds improve to 3-0 at regional tournament

MERIDIAN, Idaho — Ephrata improved to 3-0 at the 13-year-old Babe Ruth Regional Tournament.

Brock Hussey’s RBI single in the sixth inning broke a 1-1 tie and Ephrata beat Co County (Idaho) 2-1.

In the second game of the day, Ephrata erased a 1-0 deficit to beat Kuna (Idaho) 15-5 in five innings.

In the opener, the Tigers took an early lead after Winston Roberts scored on an error in the first inning. However, Ephrata was held scoreless for the next four innings.

Co County evened the game with a run in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Roberts allowed two hits in four innings on the mound. Gavin Burns pitched three innings of relief, giving up two hits and one run.

Tyson Laugen was 2-for-3 for the Tigers.

Against Kuna, Ephrata led 2-1 after two innings before scoring six runs in the third and five runs in the fourth.

Laugen was 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored.

Ephrata plays West Linn (Northern Oregon) today at noon.
