Spuds split road DH with Hanford

HANFORD — Central Washington rallied from a walk-off loss in the opener to split a road doubleheader with Hanford.

An errors allowed the game-winning run to score in the bottom of the seventh in the first game as Hanford hung on to win 8-7.

The Flames opened up a 6-0 lead before th Spuds came back with seven runs over the final two innings to tie the game.

Daniel Ochoa was 2-for-4 with three RBI and a double. Ochoa’s three-run double with two outs in the seventh inning tied the game.

Wade Visker and Kameron Huberdeau drove in one run each.

In the second game, Austin Valdez pitched a complete game in a 4-1 Spuds win. Valdez scattered seven hits and struck out four.

The Spuds scored three runs in the first inning and never relinquished the lead.

Ezekyel Ochoa and Bailey Sanchez had one RBI each; Cameron Duke was 3-for-4 with two runs scored.
