| July 14, 2017 3:00 AM

OTHELLO — Police in Othello are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who is accused of crashing and abandoning a vehicle after leading police on a short pursuit.

About midnight July 8 an Othello police officer became involved in a short vehicle pursuit of a white sedan near South First Avenue and East Columbia Street. The sedan, allegedly driven by Uriel Vasquez-Maldonado, age and city of residence not given, reportedly collided with a chain link fence and concrete curb, which disabled the vehicle.

Vasquez-Maldonado reportedly fled the scene on foot and has yet to be apprehended. The OPD is seeking Vasquez-Maldonado for eluding a police officer and hit-and-run.

Contact the Othello Police Department at 509-488-3314 to report information about this case.
