Shots fired during incident in Moses Lake Monday night
MOSES LAKE — Several shots were fired during an altercation between two people late Monday night in Moses Lake.
About 10:30 p.m. Moses Lake Police Department Officers responded to a report of shots fired in 700 block of South Hawthorne Drive. Officers learned there had been a previous confrontation between two people at another location and the altercation reignited on South Hawthorne Drive, according to MLPD Capt. Dave Sands.
During the Hawthorne Drive altercation one person fired at least six rounds at a 38-year-old male victim. The victim was not struck and most of the rounds either hit the victim’s vehicle or the house the victim was running toward. The suspect took off from the scene in a vehicle he had borrowed, which was later recovered in the 1200 block of South Skyline Drive.
“There is no indication that the owners of the vehicle were involved in any way,” Sands said. “We have a person of interest identified; however, we are not prepared to release their name.”
Both of the vehicles were impounded for pending search warrants. Investigators continue to follow leads on the case.
