| July 11, 2017 3:00 AM

QUINCY — A Ephrata woman received several citations Sunday night after she reportedly fell asleep at the wheel and left a road near Quincy.

About 9:50 p.m. Rafaela Martinez, 28, of Ephrata, was driving a 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager north on state Route 281, about one mile south of Quincy, when she reportedly fell asleep at the wheel. The Plymouth left the road to the right and came to a rest in the northbound ditch, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Martinez was injured in the collision and transported to Quincy Valley Medical Center by ambulance center for treatment. Martinez was cited for second-degree negligent driving, driving without a valid operator’s license and driving without liability insurance. The patrol says more citations against Martinez are pending.
