QUINCY — A Soap Lake motorcyclist was injured in a two-vehicle collision near Quincy Sunday afternoon.

About 2:15 p.m. Tanner Parmer, 33, of Soap Lake, was driving a 2006 Kawasaki ZXR west on state Route 28, about one mile east of Quincy, when he attempted to pass two vehicles, despite being in a no-passing zone. As Parmer was attempting to pass the vehicles, a 2017 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Miguel Ceja Diaz, 28, of Ellensburg, attempted to turn left onto Road P. Parmer struck the driver’s side of the truck and was ejected off of the motorcycle, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The motorcycle came to a rest in Road P and the Dodge came to a rest on the southbound shoulder of Road P. Parmer was injured and transported by ambulance to Quincy Valley Medical Center for treatment. Ceja Diaz was not injured.

The patrol reports the official cause of the collision was Parmer’s unsafe passing. Parmer was cited for passing in a no-passing zone and driving with a suspended license.
