Blasting to delay I-90 traffic
MOSES LAKE — Anyone taking I-90 to the West Side in the evenings this week will need to add an hour or so to their travel time as state officials close the interstate east of Snoqualmie Pass to allow for blasting.
According to a news release from the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), I-90 will be closed at 7 p.m. for an hour each night beginning Monday, July 10, through Thursday, July 14, as crews blast through rocks.
The closures will affect eastbound lanes of I-90 beginning at milepost 56 near Gold Creek and westbound drivers at milepost 62 near the Stampede Pass interchange, according to WSDOT.
In addition, WSDOT said there would be a number of daytime and nighttime delays along I-90 between North Bend and Ellensburg as crews work on the road.
