Moses Lake imposes water rationing
MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake officials imposed a city-wide water rationing schedule on Monday because of a possibility of the city’s water system not being able to meet future demands for water distribution.
The city-wide water rationing means irrigating and washing of vehicles is prohibited. Addresses with odd numbers are permitted to irrigate and wash vehicles on odd numbered days and address with even numbers will be permitted to irrigate and wash vehicles on even numbered days.
“Water rationing may be necessary when the Municipal Services Director determines that the City water system is insufficient to meet the forecasted demand for any water distribution zone of the City water system,” reads Moses Lake city code 13.07.010.
Any property that has an irrigation meter that is 2 inches or bigger will only be allowed to irrigate from midnight to 8 a.m., or on a schedule approved by the municipal services director. The water rationing will be in affect until further notice from the city.
For more information contact the city at 509-764-3701.
