EPHRATA — A Soap Lake woman’s alleged failure to yield led to a two-vehicle injury collision near Ephrata on Friday.

About 12:35 p.m. Sheri Paasch-Clark, 56, of Soap Lake, was stopped at a stop sign on state Route 282, about four miles east of Ephrata, in a 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck and reportedly turned onto state Route 17 without yielding to a 2005 Ford Freestyle driven by Peter Martinez, 36, of Ephrata. The Freestyle struck the rear of the truck and came to a rest on the southbound SR-17 shoulder. The Chevrolet came to a rest blocking the southbound SR-17 lanes, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Paasch-Clark was injured and transported to Columbia Basin Hospital in Ephrata by ambulance for treatment. Martinez was not injured. Both vehicles sustained reportable damages and were impounded. Paasch-Clark was cited for failure to yield the right of way, according to the patrol.
