'Surf and turf' focus of cooking class

| January 30, 2017 2:00 AM

MOSES LAKE — A lesson in high-end cooking is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Columbia Basin Technical Skills Center. “Valentine’s Day Surf & Turf” is open to people age 18 and older and is sponsored by the Moses Lake Parks and Recreation Department.

It’s one in a series of cooking classes for adults, taught by CB Tech chef Steve Armstrong.

“We will learn how to properly cook lobster tails and filet mignon,” Armstrong wrote. The class will be offered twice during February.

All ingredients will be provided and – the main ingredients being expensive – the cost for the class is $75. The class includes recipes and instruction on preparation.

Because it’s a kitchen, closed-toed shoes will be required. Chef aprons, hats and coats will be supplied.
