Inauguration boycott

| January 26, 2017 2:00 AM

The members of Congress who have chosen to boycott the inauguration of Donald Trump have demonstrated their willingness to put party politics ahead of the nation’s interest.

The refusal to attend this historic event does a disservice to the constituents in their districts as it does to the country. They forget we are not celebrating the man, Donald Trump; rather, we are celebrating the peaceful transfer of power.

The lack of judgment and childish behavior of these individuals in their failure to attend the inauguration shows their unfitness to hold public office. They should all resign.
