Expand schools to keep them serving the community well

| January 26, 2017 2:00 AM

We are writing this letter in support of the MLSD bond election. We are proud members of the Moses Lake community and Moses Lake School District. Together, we have worked for the district for a combined total of over 60 years. During that time we raised all four of our children here, all of whom have gone on to successful careers thanks to the foundation that they received in Moses Lake. Now, we have two grandchildren who will soon be school age and attending schools in the MLSD.

We are at a crossroads with our overcrowding issues. When we passed the bond in the ’90s that expanded and improved our schools, that launched us into unparalleled academic and athletic success. The bond created opportunities for our students that have served them well over the past 20-plus years. We wish to encourage our community to once more step up and create more opportunities and 21st-century programs for our students that will allow our future graduates access to high-paying jobs and qualification for technical and academic universities.

It’s past time for us to do the right thing – our children are our future.

Please join us in voting yes.
