Cost of school bond is little compared to return

| January 26, 2017 2:00 AM

Friends and neighbors in the Moses Lake School District, Feb. 14 is a day we express our love to a special person in our life, but this upcoming Valentine’s Day you will have the opportunity to show some love in another way. The Moses Lake School District is running a capital projects bond for the construction of a second high school, upgrades to the current high school and a new elementary school.

As a graduate of Moses Lake High School and as a parent who had a child graduate from there as well, I strongly encourage you to make a very small investment into our children’s education. Children and staff alike deserve an environment that promotes learning and comfortability. The total cost for these projects may seem astronomical, but the cost to you is minimal. On average, the investment you make will only be approximately $17 per month. Many people spend much more than that on lattes and lunch in a month and don’t think twice.

Please pay it forward for our kids and school staff for a future that holds better opportunities and a pathway to success.
